Hello Feliks,I have been a big fan and I average around 24 seconds. Only about 10% of my solves are sub-12. it happens all the time to me. It really helps. I think, free slice is more useful to solve the 5x5 because is more easier than yau5 in solve the center and the edge too. Things I noticed lots of random and useless turning I told you keep you TPS down this is especially keeping you back. I know I need to practice lookahead but how exactly do I improve my lookahead? What I do for 5x5 last edge parity is I use speedcubereveiw's 4x4 OLL parity alg, and then I just do that, with an M2 U2 M2 afterwards. Did you use the right notation, not doubting you but it didn't work. i just did a slow solve and i got 54.711 seconds, with a few pauses! Wide U moves are also fine - the one disadvantage of that is that it might make looking ahead to the first F2L pair slightly more difficult, because you're moving the top layer either 90 or 180 degrees. If it is your last pair, what you're doing is fine, or you could use: R U' R' U y' R' U2 R U2 R' U R is also fine. I have been cubing for over a year and a half now, and I do not consistently average sub 20. With 4LLL I feel it is easier to look ahead to PLL, but I still do not have the mental ability do complete the algorithms without thinking for 1-5 seconds. The same is true for OLLs and and because there is more cases, the symmetrical ones are even more rare such as the case with all oriented corners and flipped edges which I believe is the rarest case in CFOP. BrodytheCuber solved a rubik's brand under 8 seconds and Cubing Encoded can get a sub 10 too. It depends on my mood. Really impressive and helpful blog thank you so much feliks  :). 4. It's harder to look for questions from people that actually need help. :D, felix can you keep a video on best speedcubes. but then you start speeding up after a moth or so. Basically, you can solve some cases from multiple angles which makes them less likely to occur than other than others. After the pause, I just rescrambled the cube and slowed down my tps. Should i just do slow solves and practise?? Natural fingertricks and lookahead can be okay, but it's important to keep in mind that there will probably be things that you'll need to fix along the way. 28^2 and 29^2 were my hardest two ... b/c I didn't have any clue what those two were off the top of my head... so I just went about doing 28^2 = (30-2)^2 = 900 - 2(-2 x 30) + 4 {which is just a quick way of multiplying those two binomials together} ... and this gave ---> 900 - 120 + 4 = 784 !!!! Or something else? Get sub __ or what? How fast should I get at every step (cross, f2l, LL) to hit the 15 seconds barrier. If so, then pretty much just practice cubing whenever you can. Becoming sub-20 is easy if you know full pll, 2 look oll, and your f2l is around 10 seconds. i am averaging  ~20-25 seconds, know intuitive f2l and about 10 advanced f2l cases.I know 4 look LL and a few plls and oll. one, duh. I think about 17. My first year of cubing completed and 9 months after coming in contact with CFOP my average is 15 sec...is my progress up to mark? Awesome website Feliks! For timing, I have a smart cube so it will tell me my tps, how long it takes for each step, will start when I start and stop when I stop, and it will take an average of all my solves give ao5a in ao12. also feliks i want to be fast just like you one day, you've inspired me! I average sub 20 (18.451) with my Weilong GTS2. I often do R’ F R F’, especially when coming out of F2L case 3. There's no good website anywhere (That makes sense or has all of the PBL's). PB is 14. r2 B2 U2 l U2 r' U2 r U2 F2 r F2 l' B2 r2, Well Noah Marsh the 5x5 edge parity alg is pretty much the 4x4 edge parity alg except after the 2l you have to do a 3r', Ben just learn the actual one because you can't do it that way because it is very inefficient in terms of finger tricks and the alg doesn't work. Thanks for all your help! This site is so cool! I do not know any other alg subsets and cannot improve. @Ritumoni Sarkar, do you use F2L if not go to Feliks' tutorial tab and find the tutorial marked F2L also if you haven't learned OLL and/or PLL then go to 3x3 algs and download both PDFs and learn them if you are done with all of these then go into Feliks' Intermediate Cross and F2L and learn those  and if you are done with those then you then scroll all the way down on 3x3 algs and you should find F2L algs download the last two and work on those this should decrease your times with practice and time down to Sub 15 which is where I am at now you don't need to but if you are in the sub 20 range and can't seem to improve than go to Feliks' Advanced F2L tutorial and practice those techniques too which got me to Sub 12. yeah the parities seem hard, but it only takes like an hour of repeating them to get it memorized (: I average 22 seconds, but I know Full PLL, Full OLL, and even advanced F2l. I'm trying to do Look Ahead, but it is very hard. I will use your ideas to help me. Did it past 12 with a calculator. just in case you need a "new main cube" you can either buy the RS3M (or) the gans 356 air, You know actually I realize Christmas is coming up so maybe I’ll be able to get the Han 356 ax and until then I’ve got plenty of time to learn bld on my rubies brand lol, ugh, the gan 11 pro is out now and sixty dollars was already pushing it but i wouldn't want the xs if i could have the 11 pro so i think ill get the other one, so, would you say its better to get a magnetized gan 356 R or a R3RM 2020. @Paul Lee, it has something to do with ratational symmetry. Learning more F2L algs, 1LLL algs, ZBLL, WV, and MW brought me to sub-16. Savan practice f2l, 12.5 seconds isn't great. IF you really need tips, you shouldn't be using this blog because ppl here aren't that good. can you give me a scramble to solve please? Hey Feliks, just wondering. Lol. do u have a youtube channel or a profile on the WCA website? I am at 35 sec average after one month, so i am in intermediate. Also, with the last layer they use a different last layer that involves more steps. I'd say its better to get the rs3m 2020 (I'm a gan fanboy btw). I recommend you learn the 3 basic cases and then learn the rest when you have reached around sub 20 or 30 and don't think of f2l algorithmically it is intuitive so when you do an F2L algorithms just don't execute it look at how the pair is affected before inserting the pair. And for extra brownie points, any advice on learning advanced f2l? GAN names their cubes in 2 ways. I'm Jason from Hong Kong and I average around 13 seconds and have learnt full OLL, PLL, and WV. I currently average 32 seconds in Roux and 24 seconds using CFOP. @Jacob Shum Do you think that this is a bad thing if they want to learn F2L later? how do I shorten the solve, whats your solution? 2 Do you need to bring the stack mat and timer or just the cubes to the competitions. The time will be around 1-2 second pause this means you found a good speed to practice at. what about the solve above? That is true but the people I met that have used beginners method for more than a month just wanted to know how to solve the Rubik's cube and not go into speedcubing.
